The following is a statement by Paul Blank, campaign director for WakeUpWalMart.com:

“By recognizing the union in China, Wal-Mart has once again turned its back on America’s workers and put China first. After helping ship hundreds of thousands of U.S. jobs to China, Wal-Mart has now agreed to give Chinese workers collective rights that it won’t even give its workers right here at home.

It’s time for Wal-Mart to put America first and give their workers the right to negotiate a better life and better jobs that pay a living wage and provide affordable health care. As the union of jurisdiction, we reiterate our offer to sit down with Wal-Mart and work together to improve the lives of its workers and make Wal-Mart a better, more profitable business.”
