Plan a vigil at your local Wal-Mart
On Thursday, Dec. 14 and Friday, Dec. 15, WakeUpWalMart.com supporters from across the country will be hosting coordinated candlelight vigils to highlight the moral issues surrounding Wal-Mart’s anti-family business practices. To join us in hosting a vigil in front of your local Wal-Mart, simply enter your zip code in the box to the right. Alternatively, you can plan a vigil at another public location, like your local church or a public square.
Have questions before posting your vigil? Email us at field@wakeupwalmart.com and we will answer any questions you might have.
Once you have signed up to host your vigil, we will send you an easy “how-to” guide for hosting your vigil. We will also help you reach out to your local press and recruit more people to attend your vigil.
Can’t host a vigil? Join thousands of supporters in signing our letter to Wal-Mart CEO Lee Scott, calling on him to reflect our moral values.
In the common ground of all of our faiths, we call on Wal-Mart to put families first, to change, to embrace the simple fact that with “great wealth comes great responsibility.”
In the end, it is our sincere ‘Hope for the Holidays’ that Wal-Mart will change for the better, do what is morally and ethically right, honor the teachings our faith leaders, and reflect the best of American values.
