About Us
Wal-Mart Workers of America (WWOA) is a national association, not a union, dedicated to improving the
lives and defending the rights of current and former Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club workers. As the first
national association of Wal-Mart workers, the WWOA will offer a real “open door” for Wal-Mart workers to
come together, learn about their workplace rights, and build a new empowering movement that will change
Wal-Mart into a responsible employer.
All former and current Wal-Mart workers are eligible to join the WWOA. Membership is free and includes information about your workplace rights, both Wal-Mart’s responsibility to you as a worker and your rights and protections under state and federal labor laws, a 1-800 help hotline for advice regarding workplace issues, a discussion forum just for Wal-Mart workers, information about current class-action lawsuits against Wal-Mart, and the latest news affecting Wal-Mart workers. WWOA will also provide its members a quarterly newsletter and email updates about the latest Wal-Mart news and developments every Wal-Mart worker needs to know about. WWOA will also seek to work with a broad coalition of partners, including socially responsible citizen groups, progressive groups, and labor unions to build a national movement to change Wal-Mart led by Wal-Mart workers in partnership with WakeUpWalMart.com. |
