Know Your Rights: Occupational Safety and Health Act
You have the right to be safe at work.
Have you been locked in the store at night during re-stocking? Have you been forced to lift heavy boxes? Under the federal Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (OSHA) you have the right to work in a safe environment, free of bodily harm. OSHA states that it is the responsibility of the “employer to assure …so far as possible, every working man and woman in the nation safe and healthful working conditions.” According to OSHA, Wal-Mart must "furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees". Has Wal-Mart put you in an unsafe environment? Stand up and for your rights and filing a complaint: http://www.osha.gov/as/opa/worker/complain.html Want to talk to someone in person?
